Ronaldinho and Friends head to the Stadium Of Light
We are delighted to announce that the Stadium of Light will play host to Ballon D’Or winner Ronaldinho for a Ronaldinho & Friends former players match on Monday 25 May (KO 5pm).
The Brazilian footballing icon will be making the trip to Wearside, leading his Ronaldinho & Friends side against Jermain Defoe’s UK icons team.
The game will take place one day after the Premier League season finishes, with Sunderland taking on Chelsea in the final fixture on Sunday 24 May.
The other players confirmed to be playing alongside the two-time World Player of the Year are former Sunderland striker Djibril Cissé, Kléberson, Heurelho Gomes, former Manchester United full backs Fábio & Rafael, Fernando and Anderson.
Tickets are on sale now via the club's ticketing website, with prices to start as follows:
Adults - £25
Concessions - £20
Hospitality:
Quinns Sports Bar - £100
Executive Boxes - £1,500 (10 guests)
Parking at the ground will also be available, priced at £10.

The Stadium of Light is known for hosting big occasions and this event with Ronaldinho is no different. Sunderland is a major global destination for football fans, and we look forward to welcoming some of the greats while showing off our city.”
Marcel Nalyan, Chief Curator of the Ronaldinho & Friends game, added: “Ronaldinho’s love for football has never faded, not even with the close of his professional career. It had been a long time since he last visited the UK, and he had longed for the chance to play there once more. When the opportunity with Sunderland arose, he said immediately: “Let’s do it! From the very beginning, he loved everything about the fans on Wearside, the stadium, and all that comes with it.”
Season Ticket Renewals Open!
Sunderland AFC today confirmed that the 2026-27 season ticket renewal window is now open.
The Club continues to recognise the loyalty of its supporters, and season ticket holders who have held their seat for every season since 2022-23 will receive the lowest renewal price for the new campaign.
All 2025-26 season ticket holders will receive personalised pricing into their online ticketing account.
A range of flexible payment options are on offer, including six equal monthly payments via Direct Debit, which is available free of charge to all supporters.

No auto-renewal
There are no Direct Debit auto-renewals for the 2026-27 season.
All supporters must actively renew their season ticket.
Direct Debit remains available as a payment method during the renewal window.
Renewal window
The season ticket window will be open from 5pm on Monday 23 February until 12pm on Saturday 11 April 2026.
After this deadline, any unrenewed seats will be released.
Waiting list sales
Subject to availability, supporters on the season ticket waiting list will be eligible to purchase from 5pm on Monday 20 April 2026.
Supporters already on the waiting list before 23 February will receive priority access to available seats, with a 48-hour exclusive window before sales open to supporters joining the list from 23 February 2026.

Payment options
Supporters can choose from a range of flexible payment options for 2026-27, including Direct Debit.
A new credit/debit card payment plan is also available, alongside full upfront card payment and payment via digital wallets (Apple and Google Pay).

The 2026-27 season forms part of a multi-million-pound, multi-year investment strategy into the matchday experience at the Stadium of Light, with further legacy projects anticipated as the Club continues to enhance facilities for supporters.

Safe standing
Ahead of the 2026-27 season, we will be extending and enhancing the safe standing provision across the Stadium of Light.
Following feedback from the Sports Grounds Safety Authority, alongside results from our 2024-25 supporter survey, we are introducing additional rail seating in areas where supporters regularly stand without safety rails.
These changes will further improve safety while supporting the incredible matchday atmosphere created by our fans.

Pricing
2026-27 season ticket pricing is available via each season ticket holder’s online account.
Season ticket prices will reflect the Club’s PL status, but remain competitive and fair, and ensure loyalty is rewarded.
Supporters aged 85 or over as of 1 August 2026, who have held a season ticket every season since 2022-23, will continue to receive a free season ticket by coming into the ticket office to renew.
The Club’s Over-65 discount will remain unchanged for the 2026-27 season. From 2027-28, this age band will align with the official UK pension age.

The season ticket waiting list is now officially open for supporters looking to secure their place for the upcoming campaign.
We strongly encourage all fans interested in purchasing a season ticket to sign up as soon as possible. Joining the waiting list is the priority route to accessing available seats during the new purchase window, which will open following the completion of season ticket renewals.
